Located in Zgornje Dovže near Mislinja are remnants from the Roman period. The countryside estate, a so-called villa rustica, was discovered in 1909, whereas more recent explorations were being carried out between 1992 and 2003. Foundations of masonry buildings, covered with clay roofing tiles and heated with a floor and wall heating system (hypocaust), have been preserved at the estate. Two Roman tombstones dating back to the 1st and 2nd centuries AD were also discovered in Dovže.
The archaeological park also comprises the “Old Pušnik” homestead – a farmer’s retirement home (»preužitkarska hiša«) in the form of a stretched house – as an example of vernacular architecture. Within the framework of the project »Days of European Cultural Heritage«, which was dedicated to archaeology in 2003, an information board providing a presentation of both cultural monuments was set up at the Old Pušnik estate.
