Several hundred years of mining tradition in Črna and its surroundings have influenced the town’s image and way of life. Preserved movable cultural heritage, which tells stories of extracting lead ore, is located on a rock in the middle of the town square. Some machines and equipment also pertaining to the exploitation of this natural resource are exhibited in front of the mineshaft. In more than 330 years of mining 19 million tonnes of ore were extracted and more than 800 kilometres of shafts dug in this ore deposit, situated in the Upper Meža Valley and covering 64 square kilometres.
